In Memoriam - Beverly S. Hirschhorn,
Founder of Hirschhorn + Young Graphics
dies at the age of 74 |

CEO Holly Young announced today that an industry icon, Beverly Hirschhorn, passed away in her sleep this morning with her cat Mandy at her side.
Beverly S. Hirschhorn started her one-woman mechanical artwork
studio in her home on 75th Street in the early 1970's working for one
client, the new company on the block...Clinique. Her studio slowly grew,
moving first to Fifth Avenue and 57th Street with 1 more person, Holly
Young. Then growing even larger and moving in stages to Broadway and
57th Street with over 10 people. And today, with the help of Ms. Young,
her company, now called Hirschhorn + Young Graphics, has grown from
a one-woman studio to over 20 talented, dedicated individuals who
carry on Ms. Hirschhorn's high standards.
"Beverly was a perfectionist, she firmly believed that even the 'lowly'
mechanical was a piece of artwork to be intensely proud of. She became
well known in the industry for her high standards and working for and
with Bev meant adhering to these same principals." Ms. Young stated,
"Good enough was NEVER good enough for Bev! And our clients loved
and respected her for this dedication to their work."
Bev is remembered by her family, friends, staff and clients for her quick
wit, love of antique jewelry and stories of her cats, Mandy and Ariel. She
is survived by her nephews, Jeffrey, Gary and Jerel and many other loving
family members. Funeral services are being held at Sharon Gardens in
Valhalla on November 29, 2006. Remembrance donations can be sent
to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation in her name. |
