Holly Young, President of Hirschhorn + Young Graphics, gave an informative and eye-opening presentation to the members of the Business Development Committee at the CHPA (Consumer Healthcare Products Association) Annual Meeting at the Turnberry Isle Resort in Aventura, FL on March 16, 2006.

Ms. Young challenged the OTC industry to "look beyond the box, and to realize that there is a whole world of innovation and creativity beyond the four walls of traditional packaging." Her presentation focused on bringing the OTC industry to a new level and using her expertise in the cosmetics, health & beauty, and topical OTC industries to illustrate the endless possibilities for typical OTC packaging to actually go "beyond the box".

Ms. Young's presentation highlighted some of the following areas: the meaning of colors; innovative shapes and materials; how to extend packaging real estate and still maintain brand identity. Is red really a good color to catch a customer's eye and why? What packaging style from cartoons is the hottest new graphic in vitamins? How can your package appeal to a more sophisticated customer and still comply with all of the FDA regulations?
